Now we are entering the late season period that things get real. The prey is at the top of their game and all the weak and inexperienced have been consumed by nature and now we, our birds and dogs need to be at the same level. Every flight is a challenge and every victory is hard won. Very few falconers in the “frozen north” continue past this stage. There is little wonder why after the end of a 6 or 7 month season, those that do will be glad it’s over and they can take a well deserved break. #f
