Saffron Awakens: 4 Hours in 12 Seconds – Home garden series – In the Rose Garden Nursery home garden, we planted Saffron Crocus corms in mid-September, and the first blooms appeared in mid-October, continuing into November. (Yay San Jose climate!) This time-lapse shows the blooming process of saffron over 4 hours. It all began with planting dormant corms in a pot, followed by light watering. After 3-4 weeks, thin green leaves emerged. As the leaves reached about six inches, a flower bud formed.
