This Tennessee church was organized in 1811 by German Lutherans who settled in the village of Mosheim, later called Blue Springs. During the Civil War, the Battle of Blue Springs broke out in October of 1863, about one and a half miles east of this church site. There were more than 300 dead and wounded- both Confederate and Union soldiers.
