The lace bonnet tied beneath the chin, wide ribbon bow, and tightly fitted bodice place this firmly in the late 1850s to very early 1860s. Her center-parted hair and the soft hand-coloring to the cheeks and ribbon were common practices during this period, added to give life to otherwise monochrome images.
