Dozens of dead birds were found on an Essex County bridge on Saturday, prompting an investigation by the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR). On Saturday, Dec. 27, the Tappahannock Police Department was alerted to dead birds found on the bridge over the Route 17 Bridge over the Hoskins Creek in Tappahannock.
