Between 1946 and 1955, the United States conducted a series of underwater nuclear tests—many at Bikini Atoll—to study the effects of atomic blasts on naval vessels and submarines. ☢️ These tests advanced the development of nuclear torpedoes and deepened scientific understanding of underwater explosions and radiation in marine environments.
