Missouri and Virginia both have a chance to make history in the Gator Bowl, but only one of them will be able to pull it off.
The Cavaliers are 8-13 in bowls. Their last appearance was on Dec. 30, 2019, a 36-28 loss to Florida in the Orange Bowl. Missouri is a 4.5-point favorite according to BetMGM, and -200 on the money line. Virginia is +165. The over-under is 45.5. Missouri leads 1-0. The Tigers won 31-7 on Sept. 22, 1973, in Columbia, Miss.
Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz said Virginia will have one edge: well-traveled veteran quarterback Chandler Morris, who is with his fourth college team after stops at Oklahoma, TCU and North Texas. Morris threw for 2,802 yards, 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions this season, completing 64.2 percent of his passes.
