A bright spot: All-America Mizzou running back Ahmad Hardy became the program's single-season rushing king, surpassing Cody Schrader's mark from 2023. Hardy, a Doak Walker Award finalist, finishes the 2025 season with 1,645 yards on the ground after running for 89 Saturday.
Every indication is that Hardy will suit up and play in the Gator Bowl for Missouri. He has history within his sights: With just 68 more yards, Hardy will be the Tigers' single-season rushing yardage record holder. This season, Hardy has already run for 1,560 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Virginia has its own star in the backfield with J'Mari Taylor, who leads the ACC with 1,062 rushing yards on the season and leads all ACC running backs with 14 rushing touchdowns. Taylor, predictably, was a First Team All-ACC selection and now he'll try to help Virginia cap a historic season with a win in the bowl game.
