Britain is rejoining a Europewide student exchange program that it abandoned to the disappointment of many young Europeans in the fractious aftermath of Brexit.

The government is expected to announce today that the UK will rejoin the Erasmus exchange scheme for students, five years after ending its participation as part of the Brexit deal

The government announced on Wednesday morning that the UK will contribute £570m to the scheme for 2027/2028 academic year.
