A Russian citizen has been arrested by the Federal Security Service (FSB) for acting as an agent for Moldova's intelligence services, the TASS news agency reported Thursday. According to the FSB, the suspect arrived in Moscow in December 2025 and was detained when preparing to carry out an assignment from Moldova's intelligence services that aimed to harm Russia's national security.

Russia has freed French researcher Laurent Vinatier, who was serving a three-year prison sentence, in exchange for the release by France of a jailed Russian, state media reported on Thursday.

Russia's FSB said Laurent Vinatier was freed in exchange for Daniil Kasatkin, a Russian who was wanted in the United States for alleged involvement in ransomware attacks.
