NFL Week 18 Schedule: Cowboys relegated as playoff-factor matchups get top billing
After 8 primetime or holiday TV appearances, the '25 Cowboys will quietly end their season in the early-afternoon window of games on the final Sunday.
The NFL has officially finalized the Week 18 slate of games, including the season finale between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys.
Here are our staff predictions for Giants vs. Raiders from Las Vegas in Week 17:
The Giants have held the first overall pick twice in franchise history: in 1951 (Kyle Rote) and 1965 (Tucker Frederickson), but that was prior to the common draft post the league's 1970 merger. They held the No. 2 pick in 2018 when Saquon Barkley was their selection.
Game update (Sunday afternoon): The Giants are now closer to securing the No. 1 pick here in Week 17. With the Browns defeating the Steelers, and both the Buccaneers and Colts losing, New York will clinch the No. 1 pick with a loss to the Raiders. Call it the Fernando Mendoza Bowl.
On Sunday night, following the primetime matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Chicago Bears, the NFL announced the final schedule for Week 18. The Cowboys and the Giants will play on Sunday, Jan. 4, with kickoff scheduled at 1:00 p.m. ET.
Here is what needs to happen for the Giants to finish first in the order--and why finishing second might not be as disastrous as it seems.
