Charles Barkley on Thursday called out the NFL for encroaching on the NBA's territory by adding Christmas Day games to its calendar.

NBA legend Charles Barkley did not hold back on the NFL after scheduling a triple-header on Christmas Day. Over the years, games on Christmas Day have become one of the NBA's most cherished traditions, as they have evolved into a national stage for the league’s brightest stars and biggest rivalries.

The rest of this year’s NBA Christmas slate features the reigning champion Thunder hosting Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs; Steph Curry’s Warriors hosting the Mavericks, who have No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg; LeBron James’ Lakers hosting Kevin Durant’s Rockets and Nikola Jokic’s Nuggets hosting the Timberwolves.

For the past few years, the NFL and the NBA have butted heads to claim Christmas. Football has managed to get better viewership with games airing on Netflix.

NFL fans tuned into Netflix on Christmas Day expecting a full slate of compelling football. What they got instead was a watered-down product that failed to live up to the hype. Injuries ravaged rosters heading into the holiday.
