With just two games left in his contract, Taysom Hill got choked up when reflecting on his special bond with Saints fans and a unique NFL career.

Hill restructured his contract last offseason, and there are no contractual ties to keep him in New Orleans beyond 2025. He started the year on the PUP list after having his 2024 campaign cut short by a significant knee injury that included a torn ACL, and it makes sense for a rebuilding Saints team to move in another direction.

New Orleans Saints multi-position athlete Taysom Hill made history Sunday, becoming the only player with more than 1,000 yards passing, rushing and receiving in the Super Bowl era. He finished the Week 16 win against the New York Jets with one pass for 38 yards and a touchdown, 12 carries for 42 yards on the ground and four receptions for 36 yards.

Hill signed a four-year, $40 million deal with the Saints that will expire at the end of the 2025 season. The Saints have been showing significant promise over the last few weeks.
