As father and son, King Charles and Prince William regularly attend royal engagements together. However, a new report is suggesting that The King isn't entirely happy with the implication that the Prince of Wales is "running" the British monarchy.
King Charles III, who was diagnosed with cancer in February 2024, gave an update on his condition in a personal video message.
The message allowed Charles to reflect on the 22 months since he announced he was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer. His decision in February of 2024 to publicly reveal the diagnosis marked a departure from longstanding royal practice, as Britain’s royals have traditionally kept health matters private.
King Charles and Queen Camilla made a joint appearance at St. James’s Palace on December 18. The couple’s outing marks the first time they’ve undertaken royal duties together since the King shared a rare update on his health on December 12. In a video message, he shared “good news” about his cancer treatment going into 2026.
Buckingham Palace said Saturday that King Charles III “will be greatly encouraged and deeply touched” by the reaction to his video message detailing his experience with cancer, Britain’s PA Media news agency reported.
