The AFC South wasn't supposed to play out this way. Coming into the 2025 NFL season, this division was supposed to field one of the weakest playoff teams in the bracket. Then, halfway through the year, it appeared that there would be three teams out of the AFC South to make the postseason.
There probably wasn't much need to deliberate before naming the AFC offensive player of the week for Week 17 of the 2025 season.
Since arriving in Miami, Chubb has been a leader and team captain on and off the field, starting all 16 games for the Dolphins in 2025. He currently leads the team with 8.5 sacks and has combined for 46 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery this season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars could wind up playing anybody in the first round of the playoffs. Thankfully, they shouldn't be afraid of anyone.
"I know all the guys in that locker room will tell you that their goals are bigger than winning the AFC West," Broncos WR Courtland Sutton said.

Bradley Chubb named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for 2-sack day
Miami Dolphins pass rusher Bradley Chubb is the AFC Defensive Player of the Week after recording two sacks against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It's the second time in Chubb's career that he's earned the award. The first was in 2023 when he recorded three sacks in a blowout win against the New York Jets.
Chubb sacked Tampa quarterback Baker Mayfield twice during Miami’s 20-17 win. Mayfield lost the ball on Chubb’s second fumble and defensive end Quinton Bell recovered it for one of three takeaways the Dolphins defense recorded in the win.
While it remains to be seen whether Mike McDaniel will return as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins for the 2026 season, he reportedly could be on the Cleveland Browns' radar if he doesn't.
